About Sean Bassett

Sean Bassett is a Comic Book Resources lists writer from Scarborough, North Yorkshire. He holds college and university degrees in media, film, and television, as well as a Masters by Research certificate in screenwriting. Sean holds a deep passion for movies and television programs, and also enjoys writing, filming and editing his own short form productions.

Industry Focus

Sean's writing career first began with voluntary pieces for Skatronixxx and Pop Culture Pipe Bomb. He has also contributed some high profile pieces of fan fiction for Inferno Fiction, covering the subject matter of Doctor Who. In 2019, he self-published his first original novel, "Dragon World," which explores an alternate modern society where dragons are kept as household pets.

Sean first transitioned to Comic Book Resources on a news piece regarding Groundhog Day Funko Pops in 2020, before moving to ScreenRant as a lists writer in 2021. November 2022 marked his return to Comic Book Resources with his lists article '10 Movie Sequels That Were Released Too Late'.

Favorite Media

Sean is a massive fan of the British sci-fi series Doctor Who, and enjoys listening to the audio dramas produced by Big Finish Productions. He is also a keen Potterhead, believing Harry Potter And The Cursed Child and the Fantastic Beasts movies to be underrated.

As well as the Doctor Who and Harry Potter franchises, Sean enjoys keeping up to date with the MCU, Ghostbusters, and DC. He has a deep love for the Back To The Future trilogy and Jurassic Park/World movies, as well as the British TV Shows hosted by Ant and Dec (Saturday Night Takeaway, Britain's Got Talent, I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, Limitless Win) and Michael McIntyre (The Wheel, Michael McIntyre's Big Show).

Although film and television will always be Sean's main interest, he can also be found playing videogames (particularly Mario, Sonic, Crash Bandicoot, and Rayman platformers), and attending stand-up shows by Michael McIntyre, Rhod Gilbert, Jack Whitehall, and Seann Walsh. He also enjoys reading a variety of books, including the works of Anthony Horowitz and Alex Scarrow.
