R. Tolkien's work have focused on only a small selection of his stories. Pieces of Middle-earth media, ranging from cartoons to live-action films to video games, have either been adaptations of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings or new stories not directly adapted from Tolkien's writing. Even Amazon's The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power, which took loose inspiration from The Silmarillion, excluded most of the novel's main events in favor of original ideas.

<![CDATA[Great Fantasy Movies Inspired by Lord of the Rings]]> The first thing that fans do after watching an epic movie is to fire up the internet and search for similar films. That's the kind of experience that only a great piece of visually stunning, well-written, and executed film can offer – like The Lord of the Rings. Tolkien's genius adaptation gave the audience one of the greatest fantasy stories of the century. There can hardly be something as superior and perfect as LOTR ever again, but that doesn't mean that the viewers can't relive the feeling through other great fantasies.

<![CDATA[Questionable Storylines in The Lord of the Rings]]> The Lord of the Rings has a good case for being the greatest fantasy epic ever conceived. Its world has a depth and lore that few fictional universes could ever hope of coming close to. Even despite the consistency of LOTR's mythos, that doesn't mean it's perfect in every possible way; a fact becomes even more apparent when considering the film adaptations.

<![CDATA[Lord of the Rings: Do Elves Have Children?]]> The Elves of Middle-earth stand out among all other races. With their superior strength, intelligence and everlasting lifespan, they could've ruled much of the land if they chose to. Instead, they decide to watch over Middle-earth from the safety of their forests. But they don't hide away from danger when it comes, as Elves play a prominent role throughout The Lord of the Rings. However, out of all the Elves and kingdoms featured in the story, no Elven children are featured in Tolkien's stories. Indeed, their arc in the Lord of the Rings trilogy is the exact opposite: they are leaving Middle-earth for the lands beyond the sea, bringing their story to an end instead of raising new children as a beginning.

<![CDATA[Everything We Know About The Lord of the Rings: The War of Rohirrim]]> After the wild success of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit Trilogy, it will be nearly impossible to top off the hype and dedication surrounding Tolkien's lore. Peter Jackson's take on J.R.R. Tolkien's fantasy world is a grand masterpiece and a cinematic experience that can never be recreated. However, no matter how nostalgic the original movies may be, there's so much unexplored territory and ages in Middle-earth that it would almost be a shame not to think about adapting more material.

<![CDATA[Understated Lord of the Rings Romances That Impacted Middle-Earth]]> Many who love The Lord of the Rings trilogy hang their romance shipping caps on the more heavily-stated romances between Aragorn and Arwen or Sam and Rosie. However, there were two more subtle romantic stories in The Lord of the Rings extended editions, which were highly underrated and greatly impacted the character development of those involved. Namely, Gimli being enamored of Galadriel's beauty and grace, and Faramir and Eowyn find one another while they both recover from the Battle of Pelennor Fields. These relationships both developed the characters involved and, in ways were just as profound or romantic as The Lord of the Rings trilogy's more prominent relationships.

<![CDATA[The Lord of the Rings' Wargs, Explained]]> Wargs, the canine monsters that Orcs rode into battle, were some of Middle-earth's most memorable creatures. They have appeared prominently in nearly every adaptation of J. R. R. Tolkien's work, including The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit film trilogies as well as The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. However, such adaptations rarely offered clear explanations as to what exactly Wargs were or where they came from.

<![CDATA[The Strongest Power in The Lord of the Rings Is Very Unexpected]]> Water was the ace up Peter Jackson's sleeve when adapting J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. From Galadriel's memorable narration in the prologue of The Fellowship of the Ring to Frodo's moving nautical farewell in The Return of the King, this element was one of the story's most pervasive motifs. Both the novel and the films were filled with magic rings, ferocious monsters, and mighty armies, yet it was often water that spelled the fate of Middle-earth.

<![CDATA[Lord of the Rings' Biggest Dragon Was Ancalagon, Not Smaug]]> In The Lord of the Rings, Middle-earth is no stranger to enormous creatures. From the Balrog of Moria to Shelob in Mordor, Tokien's world is filled with oversized monstrosities that terrorize those unfortunate enough to cross their paths. One such creature was the dragon Smaug, who claimed Erebor and all of its gold from the Dwarves with relative ease. Despite Smaug's gargantuan size, the dragon was nowhere near the largest creature ever to roam Middle-earth, as another member of his species takes that trophy by a landslide.

<![CDATA[Fictional Languages From The Witcher, Star Wars, and More That You Can Learn]]> One of the major tropes across the science fiction and fantasy genres is building out a world's linguistics. If the story takes place in a fantastical realm filled with places and people that don't exist in the real world, then it only makes sense that the languages they speak are also a creation of the story.
